2007 Konkani Youth Convention

 Hello Family,

The KYC Core Team is posting this message to give you an update on the 2007 Konkani Youth Convention in San Francisco.  When we started planning the convention in early August of last year we could never have imagined the enthusiasm and excitement this convention has generated. We were anticipating about 80 to 90 registrants based on previous Youth Conventions and we planned our activities around that number.
 
Well, as of April 10th, 2007, we have 110 registrants, and we know there are still a ton of people that want to attend. After discussions with our venue locations and understanding our transportation needs, the Core Team came to the difficult decision that we would have to close registration.

Having to put a limit on this convention is the hardest decision we have had to make, and putting a limit on how much creativity and enthusiasm everyone has shown is not something we ever thought we would have to do.

We have setup a form where you can submit your name to a Waiting List if you were not able to register before we closed registration. If people drop out of the convention, we will move from the top of the list down and add people if they are able to attend. We will be as quick as possible to handle these types of situations so that you are able to make all the necessary arrangements to attend. Please be sure to enter your information, because we do know of some people that are registered that aren’t 100% positive they will be able to attend, so there is still a chance we will be able to accommodate you.

Keep in mind that if you aren’t able to attend the Youth Convention, you still have an opportunity to experience the Bay with other Konkani’s at the 2008 Convention in Santa Clara. The official website for the 2008 Convention launches at the end of April, so keep an eye on the website for updates.  And as always, contact anyone that lives in the Bay if you ever want to come down for a weekend and just hang out, we would love to have you out here and we’ll definitely show you a great time!!

Refund Information:

If you cancel prior to March 31st you are entitled to a 100% refund (minus paypal fees). Those of you that cancel between March 31st and June 30th will be given a 50% refund, after that we can not offer refunds, due to the fact that we have to set our catering orders and final hotel numbers at that time.
