The 2007 Konkani Youth Convention was incredible. Everyone that attended really took advantage of their time in San Francisco and got to know each other. It would never have been a success without all the enthusiasm everyone in the community showed us from the moment we started publicizing. The Core team couldn't have imagined a better weekend!!
There are some discussions on Chatter as well as lots of activity on Facebook. We will be compiling pictures and videos from the weekend and sending some content out to everyone that attended in the near future, so be on the lookout for that. Our Mission
As a community we have taken great pride in the planning, seminars, and entertainment pieces offered by Konkani youth from all over the country at local association functions and our larger sammelans. Yet even with these biennial functions, we remain disparate from one another and the youth continue to lack the cohesiveness, camaraderie and true feeling of community that our larger associations have so successfully fostered.These conventions were created as a way to bring the youth community together in a more personal setting. Our pledge to each and every one of you that attends the convention are as follows:
Focus on breaking down the barriers that the youth sometimes unknowingly create Strive to ensure that every attendee meets one another at the convention Discuss ways to leverage the power of the Konkani Youth community to drive positive change Plant the seeds for lifelong friendships Experience everything that Northern California has to offer to the fullest
